Invoices emerge from Ajola Xoxa's computer/ What she bought with 860

When they spread the information that Ajola Xoxa had spent over 860 thousand euros on expensive clothing and accessories, the two prosecutors in the case, Olsi Dado and Altin Dumani, dropped a devastating bombshell on the image of Erjon Veliaj and his wife.

The insane amount of online purchases is strong evidence of the undeniable luxury that people who are supposed to scrupulously administer the taxes of Tirana's citizens swam in. However, doubts remain that the "bomb" of 860 thousand euros of online purchases is part of the prosecutors' strategy to gain an advantage in the courtroom battle.

"Ajola Xoxa herself or through other people close to her, for a period of about 4 years, has made online purchases consisting of clothing, jewelry, etc., in the amount of 86,721,175 lek, or about 880 thousand euros," SPAK's announcement read.
As expected, this moment of the media announcement immediately captured the headlines.

That's why Erjon Veliaj immediately denounced the 860 thousand euro purchase figure for Ajola Xoxa as untrue.

Not by denying it as a total amount spent, but by considering it an expense in function of the cultural events that his wife managed and not for her personal pleasures.

"The online purchases are all declared and in an amount several times smaller, they were made for the artistic performances of my wife's cultural foundation. Billing that amount in an indictment, as a river of money poured into luxury, is a criminal perversion," said Veliaj, who brought as an argument the fact that Olsi Dado did not find any of the clothes in his house.
Edi Rama also supported Erjon Veliaj's alibi, despite accompanying it with a ridiculous justification, which he later justified by saying that he did not read the file.

"To say 800 thousand euros of online purchases for jewelry and a dress while the mayor does not wear a dress or use jewelry, and for this to take an elected person who has a contract with the citizens and lock him in a detention room," said Rama.
But what is the truth? What did Ajola Xoxa buy to reach the staggering amount of 860 thousand euros in online expenses? Are they online orders, materials for cultural events or the whims of a politician's wife, who has lost her sense of reality?

Lapsi.al has secured some of the customs invoices for orders placed by Ajola Xoxa in 2014, 2015 and purchases from January to June 2016.

As SPAK has explained, sometimes purchases are made in the name of Ajola Xoxa, sometimes in the name of her mother, Valbona Xoxa. Sometimes her orders are destined for the company offices at Sky Tower, sometimes for her house at Kodra e Diellit. Sometimes purchases are made in pounds, other times in euros or dollars.

At least in those invoices that Lapsi.al has provided, purchases were made at short intervals from one another, within periods of once a week or once every two weeks.

The orders are for well-known brands, with Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham, Prada, Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce Gabbana, Vivienne Westwood, etc. The main desires focus mainly on dresses, earrings, bags, intimate apparel, shoes, etc.

Prices range from a few dozen pounds for an item (purchases are mainly ordered in the UK from the online company Net-a-Porter), to several hundred pounds, and sometimes to several thousand pounds for specific items.

In 2014 alone, there are 39 purchase receipts, each with several different items.

In 2015 there are 30 different invoices, each with several items.

While from January to June 2016 there are 11 different invoices.

Specifically, the first invoice for 2014, taken as evidence by the prosecution, is as follows.

The first item is a £218 skirt from Mother of Pearl Bella.

The second item is a dress priced at £104 from Temperley.

The third item is a skirt by Roland Mouret, costing £126.

The fourth item is the final outerwear, also a Roland Mouret, costing £210.

The total amount of the bill is 679 pounds.

Such bills are repeated one after another, almost every week or once every two weeks.

For example, the invoice below shows an order placed on February 24, 2014 and ordered under the name Valbona Xoxa, who is Ajola Xoxa's mother.

The first order is a rubber bikini from Mikoh Byron Bay worth £229.

The second order is an intimate garment, a corset from the company Agent Provocateur worth 341 pounds, as you can see below exhibited by the companies in question through their models:

The above illustrations are taken from websites that work with online sales and that advertise the products that are on the invoice, accompanied by the corresponding description.

Below is one of the invoices from 2015, more precisely, it is the first order that Ajola Xoxa made for 2015 and is dated January 7th.

As can be seen in the document above, the outfits range from Victoria Beckham dresses costing 763 pounds, to accessories from the Vivienne Westwood line, other cheaper skirts, several dozen pounds, etc.

From a quick internet search, it turns out that the dress purchased by Ajola Xoxa for 763 pounds is the model seen in the photo above, from the Victoria Beckham brand.

In the facsimile above is one of the receipts administered in the file, where it appears that three dresses were purchased, one for $525, another for $1,850, and the other for $1,030.

The total price for all three dresses is $3,460 excluding the value to be paid at customs.

In the photo below are a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, paid for 398 pounds excluding customs value.

This shoe model from the Christian Louboutin company is just one of the items ordered on February 15, 2016, which appears to be in the name of Valbona Xoxa, but was actually ordered by her daughter, Ajola Xoxa.

The total value of the order is more than 1500 pounds.

In the photo below are a pair of snakeskin shoes, again by Christian Louboutin. According to the invoice dated February 15, Ajola Xoxa paid £619 for a similar model as below.

Below is a Givenchy bag, the Pandora Box model. A small black bag, which Ajola Xoxa bought for 837 pounds, not including customs value.

One of the orders, as seen in the invoice below, is for intimate apparel only, which suggests that it is a completely personal purchase made on January 22, 2015.

The company that stands out on the invoices in terms of intimate apparel is the same, Agent Provocateur.

Lapsi.la has chosen to publish only some of the items purchased by Ajola Xoxa, as the purchase receipts are more or less of the same nature.

The documents are evidence of hundreds of thousands of euros spent on dozens of dresses, bags, shoes, and various accessories by the wife of Mayor Veliaj, who claims that these clothes were needed by his wife for organizing cultural events.

But the alibi with which Veliaj defends himself falls flat. Personal clothing and accessories ordered from the most famous companies in the world have nothing in common with cultural projects, be they exhibitions, concerts or artistic performances.

The only point of contact between them is the source of the money; the taxes we paid for the capital./Lapsi.al
