Police obstructed prosecutors and judges in the exercise of their duties, SPAK

The Prosecution and the Special Court, in a letter sent to several institutions, such as the Ministry of Interior, the State Police, or the Supreme Court of Justice, stated that with the negligence shown, the institution led by Ilir Proda has prevented them from performing their duties.

SPAK and GJKKO have also requested that administrative measures be taken against the responsible persons of the State Police, who have neglected the request of the Guard in the protest ordered by the municipality administration.

"Through its inaction, the State Police has contributed to preventing the Special Court from exercising its constitutional and legal functions to adjudicate in a safe and peaceful environment and to guarantee the life and health of judges and administrative personnel. Through the above letter, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has addressed the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of the State Police to take the necessary measures to hold all responsible persons of the State Police, who have not taken the necessary measures, in accordance with the law, to avoid or monitor this unprecedented situation, accountable." "This court has also requested that the entire legal procedure followed and the plan of measures taken in similar cases, such as during the protests of 6.12.2024 and 06.01.2025, be made available to it, as well as a reasoned explanation with evidence as to why the same practice was not followed in the case of the incident of 12.02.2025," the letter states./ CNA
