"Albania's absence at the leaders' meeting in Greece"/ Meta

The head of the PL, Ilir Meta, has complained about the absence of Albania in the meeting of the leaders of the Western Balkans and the EU in the neighboring country, Greece.

Meta writes in his post that Rama continues to implement a personal foreign policy, against the interests of Albanians and the western future of Albania.

He says that the Freedom Party and the Albanian opposition remain committed to ensuring that Albania's European path is not broken by elements and situations of personal interests.

" I welcome the declaration approved by the 11 leaders of the United Europe and the Western Balkans on the 20th anniversary of the Thessaloniki Summit, which paved the way for the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU.

We are convinced that this is the only way for this important region, especially for the geopolitical conditions in the world today.

I welcome the participation of all the countries of the Western Balkans, as well as the well-deserved one of the Republic of Kosovo, always thinking that the policy of European integration is a policy of union and not of exclusion, a policy that fits the philosophy of the Berlin Process excluding individual initiatives. that create tension. 

The Freedom Party is against the position of Prime Minister Rama, who continues to implement a personal foreign policy, against the interests of Albanians and the western future of Albania.

Albania could not be absent from the meeting of the European perspective of our region and leave the place empty among the countries with which we share European values.

The Freedom Party and the Albanian opposition remain committed to ensuring that Albania's European path is not broken by elements and situations of personal interests, so we will follow our path without compromise to achieve Albania's integration into the European Union.

This path would become easier if the investment of the European Union and the West for our region would be focused as a priority on the functioning of the rule of law, the fight against corruption, organized crime and the fight against autocratic powers.

It is vital for us and all of Europe that in today's threatening geopolitical situation, as the Russian aggression against Ukraine has shown, to be united around European values ??and principles.

We support the determination of yesterday's declaration for Ukraine and Moldova to be part of the integration processes in the European family.

20 years ago, Albania was ahead of Montenegro and Serbia in the process of European integration, while it has marked a historic delay in the last decade only because of the undermining of reliable reforms in order to capture the state in every cell by the current Prime Minister.

Therefore, the battle for the liberation of the state and independent institutions remains decisive for the European future of the country", writes Meta./ CNA
