The moment of the arrest of the 61-year-old

A 61-year-old Korean man was captured by the police near Rinas airport.

His capture was made thanks to the operation, FAST Albania, in cooperation with the Border Police of Rinas and the Local Directorate of the Tirana Police, with the aim of extradition.

The 61-year-old with the initials SM was wanted after the Court of Seoul, South Korea, with the decision dated 24.10.2022, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Fraud under aggravating circumstances", provided by Penal Code of South Korea.

Citizen SM, in cooperation with several other citizens, has built an international pyramid scheme, which was supposed to reward investors, for buying advertising packages and reselling them to new users.

During the period March 27, 2016 - November 7, 2020, these citizens defrauded 2,156 citizens, with a total monetary loss of 40,703,930,904 KRW (South Korean currency) or about 28,000,000 euros.
