Muçollari: Let's return Tirana's trampled dignity

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, said today in the protest organized in front of the City Hall after the corruption scandal with 5D, that what happened in the City Hall is one of the most humiliating things in these decades, towards citizens, young men and women, pensioners, family members and the whole community.

"These people steal, get caught putting their hands in citizens' taxes, and then mock them, saying that you have nothing to do with us. Therefore, today it is important to stand up and protect the dignity of citizens, young people, pensioners, families and children we are raising in this city", said Muçollari.

The member of the presidency also had a confrontation with the police, where he asked the law enforcement officers not to hide behind masks, but to show themselves, since this resistance to abuse is also for them.

The protests of the citizens, the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater and the Opposition are taking place after the discovery of the 5D scandal, where it turned out that the most important directors of Erjon Veliaj had created a company by embezzling over 22 million euros from the Municipality's budget.

The directors of Veliaj are in prison, while the main responsible, the mayor, is kept untouched by SPAK. This has created a revolt among the citizens of Tirana./ CNA
