Rental cars, FSHU and OSSH tender 6.1 million euros to provide 170 vehicles

The Universal Service Provider and Distribution System Operator part of OSHEE Group will renew the fleet of vehicles they have in use by taking at least 170 cars for rent.

In a procedure opened this Friday by the Regional Directorate of OSSH in Tirana, it is specified that the amount made available for this procedure is more than 672 million ALL or 6.1 million euros.

Referring to the documents that accompany the procedure, it is about different types of tools depending on the function in which they will be put or the field groups that will use them.

The dominant part, as before, is the pick-up vehicles that are mainly used by field groups. According to the documents, out of 170 vehicles to be leased, at least 159 vehicles are for the Distribution System Operator, the company that takes care of the grid and billing, while only 11 vehicles belong to the Universal Service Supplier, the operator that provides energy to all end consumers in the regulated market.

The detailed list of rental vehicles shows that at least 5 vehicles must be SUVs, 10 of them EC/SUVs or Crossovers, 150 pick-ups, 4 PHEV SUVs, and 1 VAN min 6+1.

The vehicles according to the specifications made in the documents are required with zero mileage, and the minimum must be 2022 production. The winning company from this procedure will have at least 180 days of time or 6 months to deliver the entire amount of the required vehicles while the lease it will be for a period of 36 months or about 3 years.

In the documents Ossh Tirana has specified that the operators must also present in the bid documents the specifications related to the limit per kilometer for changing tires, the limit of km for replacing shock absorbers, changing filters and engine oil, as well as all periodic services of necessary to be carried out in the leased vehicles for the entire period of contract implementation, referring to the technical specifications.

Renting cars is a practice that has been developed for years by a number of public institutions in the country arguing that this is a more profitable form than buying them since maintenance services are also guaranteed. Earlier, other institutions have applied for the rental of the vehicles they need, such as the State Police, Illyrian Guard or DPSHTRR./ Monitor.al
