Fight against corruption/ Braho: In 2025, there was an increase in new

SPAK Chief Prosecutor, Klodjan Braho, is reporting today to the members of the KLP, on the work carried out by the institution he leads throughout 2025. Regarding the fight against corruption, Braho stated that in 2025, an increase of about 18% in new investigations and 12% in completed cases was recorded.

He also stated that 24 proceedings with 147 defendants for non-high-level corruption have been sent to court, as well as 10 proceedings with 13 defendants for high-level corruption.

Among other things, Braho stated that SPAK has resolutely continued the investigation of high-level officials with 6 new proceedings and 16 people under investigation.

"In the fight against corruption, an increase of about 18% in new investigations and 12% in completed cases has been recorded. 24 proceedings with 147 defendants for non-high-level corruption have been sent to court, as well as 10 proceedings with 13 defendants for high-level corruption.

"Also, SPAK has continued with determination the investigation of high-level officials with 6 new proceedings and 16 people under investigation. Of the 30 officials and former high-ranking officials under investigation during 2025, over 50% of them, around 18, have been sent to court with a request for trial, while 10 of them have been sentenced with a final decision ," Braho said. /CNA
