The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude, Joan, today shared a valuable life lesson from the story of Saint Pais the Great.
The Archbishop recounted an incident that had happened to this saint with some visitors from Alexandria, who were making accusations and slandering him.
His Beatitude shared the important message for everyone, to move away from slander in everyday life, which according to him poisons the mind and soul.
"A story from Saint Pais the Great. Some visitors came from Alexandria and this saint welcomed them. And when they started to accuse the Archbishop of Alexandria, he went out. He told the students to give them something to show their hospitality and left. The visitors waited and waited, but Saint Pais did not come. And they left. When the visitors left, the Saint returned. The students said to him: Abba, why did you go away and not come? Saint Pais told them: Go away so that I may protect your ears, so that they will not be poisoned by their slander," the Archbishop said. /CNA
