Requested release from cell/ The Supreme Court rejects Klodian Rrjepaj's

The High Court has rejected the appeal of former Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj, for release from prison. We recall that the Special Prosecution Office had requested a 10-year prison sentence for Rrjepaj in connection with the “Sterilization” file. If convicted, he will benefit from a shortened trial and ultimately serve only 6.8 years in prison.

Klodian Rrjepaj was arrested on August 17, 2023 by order of SPAK, on ??account of the investigations that this structure launched into the sterilization concession. Rrjepaj is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of "Forgery of documents" and "Abuse of office".

So far from SPAK's investigation into this matter, Ilir Beqaj is the highest-ranking official under indictment for violations found with the 100 million euro public-private partnership sterilization contract, following the arrest in August 2023 of businessman Ilir Rrapaj and his deputy at the Ministry of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj. /CNA
