US attacks another suspected drug ship in the Caribbean/ 4 people killed

US forces have carried out another attack on a suspected drug trafficking vessel in the Caribbean, killing four people on board. The Pentagon has not yet issued an official statement on the attack.

Since early September, the US armed forces have launched air strikes in the Caribbean and the Pacific against vessels suspected of being used for drug trafficking. To date, Washington has claimed responsibility for 21 attacks that have killed 80 people, including four in Tuesday's attack.

US attacks on drug-trafficking ships are legal and do not expose the military personnel involved to risk of prosecution, the US Justice Department said on Wednesday, dismissing allegations of extrajudicial killings. /CNA
