The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania has become part of the Book Fair that will be held from November 12-16.

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania does not just have a stand at the Book Fair, but treasures for life.

There are about 170 titles of books and publications of the Orthodox Church that contain abundant information that includes spiritual, cultural, and historical topics, that is, the activity of the church and the work of the church throughout these more than three decades.

With the blessing of Archbishop Joan, of course, this year too the Autocephalous Orthodox Church is present at the fair taking place in November 2025 and is represented with church books.

At the stand you will find books and brochures with precious lessons for life from people who lived according to the teachings of the Holy Gospel, the saints, from the first centuries to the present day.

Their teachings guide the reader to live wisely and walk the path of virtue. Our Church, well aware of the need our country has for the teachings of the Holy Gospel and the example of spiritual life, has had the "Ngjallja" printing house since the first years of its revival after the communist regime.

It publishes books on a variety of topics that help readers of all ages and their dealings with contemporary issues. For 33 years, it has published the monthly newspaper "Ngjallja", which today has 385 issues, the children's magazine "Gëzohu" and children's books with contemporary teaching methodologies.

The stand with publications of the Orthodox Church, in addition to displaying books, encourages reading as a good habit for man, because reading brings growth in knowledge, purification of the mind, growth in love, and spiritual growth.

Saint Isaac the Syrian teaches that perseverance in reading purifies the thoughts and brings sweetness to the heart. Reading delights and rejoices the soul.

Saint John Gojarti encourages us to immerse our minds and hearts in spiritual books and to always be filled, because spiritual readings give us God at the core.

In the prayer for reading, we ask that we not only appreciate those things that are written, but also apply them so that by reading the life, work and word of the saints, we do not sin, but that they serve for our restoration, enlightenment and sanctification, for the salvation of the soul and the inheritance of eternal life.

Thus, keeping in mind the teachings of the saints, the publications of the Church will fulfill their purpose by helping everyone who reads them and tries to apply what is written in them. So, the Church's stand is a stand with treasures for life, it is not just a fair stand./ CNA
