Fiscal Peace/ IMF raises concerns about risks

The Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to Albania, Anke Weber, has spoken about several elements of the fiscal package proposed by the Albanian government.

In a press conference, Weber stated that some of the new proposals could undermine the progress made so far in tax administration and create risks to the achievement of fiscal objectives and fairness.

"We have seen the latest draft of the package, we note that the government has made progress in recent years in strengthening revenue administration in line with our advice. We fear that some of the elements of the draft proposal could undermine Albania's progress in tax administration and create some risks to compliance and fairness," Weber declared./ CNA
