KPA upholds Tirana prosecutor's dismissal from office

The Special Appeals Chamber has decided today to uphold the dismissal from office of Tirana prosecutor Sokol Malaj.

The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Albana Shtylla as presiding judge, Natasha Mulaj as rapporteur, Mimoza Tasi, Rezarta Schuetz, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 29/2023, dated 12.07.2023, which concerns the appeal of the re-evaluation subject Sokol Malaj against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission no. 659, dated 12.05.2023.

"At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the trial panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter "a" of Law No. 84/2016, "On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided: To leave in force decision No. 659, dated 12.05.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, which concerns the subject of the re-evaluation Sokol Malaj. This decision is final and has immediate effect", - the KPA decision states./CNA
