AKMC: 12 fires this Wednesday, 4 of them active

At the National Civil Emergency Operations Center at AKMC, as of 19:20, 12 fires have been reported, of which 8 have been extinguished and 4 are active.

After continuous work by operational forces on the ground, it was possible to completely isolate and extinguish the fires in:

In the village of Fushë Milot, Milot administrative unit, Lezha municipality.

At the waste disposal site, Gërhot, City administrative unit, Gjirokastër municipality.

In the village of Gëziq, Rrëshen administrative unit, Mirditë municipality.

In the village of Kallarat, Horë Vranisht administrative unit, Himara municipality.

In the village of Borizane, Thumanë administrative unit, Krujë municipality.

In the village of Mesopotam, Mesopotam administrative unit, Finiq municipality.

In the village of Zenisht, Lis administrative unit, Mat municipality.

In the village of Kutal, administrative unit of Qendër Piskove, municipality of Përmet.

Dibër District

The place called “Lake of Flowers”, part of the Lura National Park, Lura administrative unit, Dibër municipality, where work continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in a forest area with pine trees and meadows. 30 operational forces were engaged in the fire extinguishing operation, but the rocky terrain and strong wind made their work difficult. The Cougar helicopter of the Armed Forces also came to help the situation. As a result, an area of about 200 ha of pine and beech forests has been covered so far.

The place called “Mali i Peladhisë”, Zerqan administrative unit, Bulqizë municipality, where work has continued to extinguish the fire that had been reactivated. The fire is active in 2 slow-growing foci, one of which is developing towards the village of Vlashaj and the other towards the village of Krajkë. 6 firefighting forces from the Bulqizë municipality's MZSH, 6 forest service forces, 12 municipal forces and 8 volunteer forces were engaged in the fire extinguishing operation. As a result, so far, an area of about 30 ha of bushes and grass has been burned.

Shkodra District

The place called "Qafa e Lacit", Vau-Dejës municipality, has had a fire since yesterday in an area with oak, holm oak, bushes and grass. There are 8 firefighters and 5 forces from the forest service on the ground to extinguish the fire. The mountainous terrain and strong winds have made the situation difficult. The area affected by the fire so far is about 12 ha.

Fier District

The village of Drenova, the administrative unit of Qendër Dukas, the municipality of Mallakastër, where work continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in an area of bushes and brambles, which was reactivated on 14.07.2025. The local service of the MZSH of the municipality of Mallakastër worked at the scene with 2 firefighting vehicles with 13 personnel, 15 municipal forces, 3 police forces and 5 volunteer forces. The mountainous terrain and strong winds have made the situation difficult. The total burned and traversed area is estimated at around 110 ha of bushes and pine forest. Also, over 1000 olive trees were burned.

21 firefighting vehicles and 277 operational forces were deployed in the firefighting operations. The Cougar helicopter from the Armed Forces also participated in today's operations. /CNA
