The Check-up concession is postponed until 2027

The Check-Up concession (free basic medical check-up) in health will end its official term in 2027, almost two years longer than in the initial contract.

According to sources in the Ministry of Health, the contract with the company "3P Life Logistic" will be active until 2027 as an automatic postponement for the suspension of the service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Check-Up contract was suspended from March 2020 to September 2021 for approximately 17 months as a result of the restrictive measures in place to prevent the virus. The suspension period went as an automatic extension that allows the company to provide the service for another two years from 2025.

In 2023, the concession company "3P life Logistic" reported revenues of 730 million lek and profits with a value of about 214 million lek before taxes.

The check-up concession started work in February 2015. The concession contract was aimed at the free basic medical check-up, which is a national program aimed at screening the population for risk factors and the most widespread diseases, with the aim of health care, prevention of diseases and complications, early detection of disorders, treatment in the early stages and improvement of health culture.

For this Public-Private Partnership contract, 475,000 beneficiaries of the service are foreseen annually, i.e. 39,583 cases per month, for which the concessionary company receives the payments, regardless of whether they are realized or not./ Monitor Magazine
