The 27th conference of the Chiefs of General Staff of the US-Adriatic Charter Initiative (A-5) started today.

Defense Minister Pirro Vengu emphasized ties with neighboring countries to further strengthen ties beyond military force.

Vengu underlined that the region should not fall prey to the malicious actions of some divisive voices.

Among other things, he declared that Kosovo has a place at the table of the Adriatic Charter.

"The bonds that strengthen us extend beyond physical strength. It is necessary to advance the principles that we have raised with great effort.

We focus on good neighborliness, cooperation, not to fall prey to malicious actions. History has not been kind to our region, but we must not remain hostage to the past.

We often hear divisive voices. These voices encourage criminal groups and bring instability to our region. We are preparing a training team in several countries of A5.

The Adriatic Charter will remain faithful to its basic principles of cooperation. Kosovo has a place at this table.
