In the city of Peshkopia, work has started on the urban requalification of the main boulevard. The investment is being carried out by the Albanian Development Fund and also foresees partial intervention for the reconstruction of the facades along the boulevard. The deadline for the completion of this project is 12 months, while it is intended that the work will be ready at the start of the next tourist season.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku, together with the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, the director of the ADF, Dritan Agolli and the mayor of Dibra, Rahim Spahiu closely followed the first works at this site.
"It is a complex intervention that deals with both the part of the underground infrastructure and the part of the boulevard, which will have a treatment with mosaic tiles, while the part where the traffic passes will be paved with decorative asphalt with white stones ", said Agolli referring to the project.
The boulevard has a length of about 700 ml, while the materials have been selected to withstand the atmospheric conditions of the area.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Balluku said that this project is added to the long list of investments that have been made in this area, but also those that are in the process. Balluku stopped at the Murriz tunnel and the Maqellar-Peshkopi segment, two important infrastructure investments, part of the Arbri Road, which are progressing at a good pace and with their completion, Dibra will be even closer to Tirana.
"Dibra as a district is a big construction site. We are currently in the process of delivering by the end of the year, hopefully of course, because there has always been a challenging situation, the Murriz tunnel, which will shorten even more the way to reach the final destination, which is Peshkopia , Dibra as a whole. On the other hand, the progress of the works that we have in the Maqellare-Peshkopi lot, which is one of the biggest problems we have had to solve, but which we have already given a solution to and I hope that before the spring of 2025, that is, somewhere from March, we will be able to finally deliver the last part of Arbri Street. Together with the tunnel, we complete one of the most complex infrastructural works we have had", said Balluku.
On the other hand, the mayors themselves have undertaken a series of projects to improve the infrastructure in the municipalities they lead, interventions that facilitate the daily life of the residents.
"Work is being done everywhere, in the four municipalities in Bulqiza, Klos, Peshkopi and of course in Mat. It must be said that the mayors themselves have undertaken a series of initiatives and projects related to deep reconstructions of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, but on the other hand also of a series of roads which today are tourist roads", stated Balluku. .
Through these investments, the whole area is getting an ever greater development, simultaneously turning into an attractive destination for tourists.
