The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, participated in the meeting of the Interior Ministers of the Berlin Process, together with the counterparts from the Western Balkan countries and the EU countries involved in this platform.

In this meeting, which took place in Berlin, where this process was started 10 years ago by Chancellor Angela Merkel, illegal migration and organized crime were discussed.

The Minister of the Interior proposed the creation of a common framework between the countries of the region and the EU, for the real-time exchange of data and analysis on migratory flows.

"I informed that a series of initiatives have been undertaken, which have increased not only coordination with the countries of the region and the EU, but also commitments translated into national objectives based on current security challenges. "Commissioner Onidi appreciated Albania's progress, which according to him, has shown commitment in advancing the implementation of the EU-Albania Action Plan against irregular migration and the fight against terrorism in the Western Balkans. He underlined Albania's role as one of the best partners in the fight against illegal phenomena, as well as the key steps it has taken for the security of its borders, and respectively, the security of the EU countries.

Regarding the integration process, the Commissioner added the fact that the screening process has been completed and that the time has come to move on to negotiations.
