"Vetting is a solution to corruption"/ Suchocka: Judicial reform, among the most difficult tasks
The Honorary President of the Venice Commission, Hanna Suc...

The President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, present at the conference "30 years of partnership and progress - Albania, the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission", spoke about the vetting process, for which he said there was significant support from the Venice Commission.
Sadushi stated that Albania's current challenge is to make the outcome of the justice reform sustainable.
Further, the head of the Supreme Court said that justice institutions need leaders who see justice beyond administrative function and personal status.
Sadushi stated that the justice system still faces pressure or prejudice from outside.
" The Venice Commission, the most trusted institution of law. The Commission has stood by Albanian institutions in every reform undertaken. Today, after 30 years of cooperation, Albania faces a new challenge, to turn the result of the reform into more sustainable justice.
Today's challenge is to create a sustainable culture of responsibility and trust. It must be acknowledged that the establishment of new institutions is not the end of reform but only its beginning. The culture of institutional cooperation is still in the process of formation. Leaders are needed who look beyond the administrative function and understand justice as a service to citizens, not as a personal status.
The Venice Commission can provide models, but courage and ethics are not imported, they are formed. We must be the first to reflect, to improve, and to set an example of how reform works.
Justice still faces external pressures and biases. The justice system is judged more by its delays than its purpose. Despite challenges and obstacles, its essence remains unchanged because the reform has not failed.
The cooperation between local institutions and international authorities proved that reform is an act of trust.
The vetting showed that justice can be cleansed from within, without violence, but with responsibility. Albanian justice must free itself from the reform complex. Justice is facing a historic moment. Consolidation of justice.
The Venice Commission will continue to inspire Albanian justice, while the latter must continue to keep the vision alive. True justice is not built by others for us, but is built together, with support. This is proof of maturity. Only in this way will Albanian justice be not only an aspiration, but a reality ," said Sadushi.
