Three fire outbreaks are isolated in the country's territory

The Armed Forces, in cooperation with other operational forces on the ground and with the assistance of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, concluded a day in the battle with fires in the country's territory.

In the Municipality of Finiq, the Albanian Air Force, in cooperation with two firefighting aircraft from Greece, within the framework of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, managed to bring the fire in the Shtugar mountain range and in the cross-border area under control. Close coordination between the National Civil Emergency Operations Center (AKMC) and the Greek Civil Protection Agency made it possible for Greek aircraft to enter the border crossing and carry out the mission efficiently. Currently, the situation in Finiq is under control and stabilized.

Meanwhile, another aerial intervention was successfully carried out in Poliçan, where the flames were threatening forested areas inaccessible by land. Also in Elbasan, the continuous efforts of the Regional Fire Protection Directorate, the Armed Forces and local structures made it possible to isolate the hearth, avoiding major environmental and material damage.

In these hot days, with a high risk of fires throughout the Mediterranean region, as warned by the official Copernicus EMS service map, maximum caution is required from citizens.

The Ministry of Defense calls on citizens to show increased caution, not to light fires in nature, and to immediately notify the relevant structures in case of danger./CNA
