Coastline inspection/ Minister Hoxha: No tolerance for water or environmental

The Minister of the Interior Ervin Hoxha, together with leaders and forces of the Border Police of Vlora and the National Coastal Agency, inspected the coastline from Himara to Saranda, to see closely the implementation of measures to increase maritime security parameters.

"Maritime safety and environmental safety remain primary in the work of the State Police, alongside public safety and road safety", underlined Minister Hoxha.

He emphasized that if one of these four components shows problems, the entire progress and smooth running of the season will be damaged.

"The Vlora Border Police has 17 units with trained officers and vessels, which operate along the entire coastline, for the prevention of incidents, for the prevention of environmental pollution. We have continuously carried out checks on private operators or those who are certified and exercise economic activity in this area. There have also been illegalities that have been punished. The checks will continue until the end of the tourist season", said the Director of the Vlora Border Police, Eduard Sulejmani.

The regional head of the National Coastal Agency Astrit Bilibashi said that the work is coordinated with every agency and the State Police, and the offenders have been prosecuted and their licenses have been revoked.

The Minister of the Interior asked the authorities to pay special attention to sailing conditions, sailing capacities, as well as anchoring and boarding places for holidaymakers, in order to avoid any incident with consequences.

"I am here to support you in your work, to do my best so that the working conditions, tools, equipment are at your disposal and you feel motivated", said Minister Hoxha.

Among other things, the minister stated that it remains the duty of the Police, in cooperation with the National Coastal Agency and the National Environmental Agency, to identify and punish those who dare to pollute our beaches or the environments around the beaches.

"The police are clear about their duties, as are the law enforcement agencies, and they will stand firm against any illegality that tends to harm the country's image and tourism in general," said Hoxha./ CNA
