Chermen Valiev and Islam Dudaev have managed to secure Albania two Olympic medals at the Paris Olympics. The two sportsmen have won the awards in the sport of wrestling.
Valiev won on August 10, securing Albania's first Olympic medal in history, while Dudaev secured the medal after the victory on August 11. Albania competed this time in the Olympics with eight athletes.
Both athletes who secured the medals are Russians naturalized in Albanians. Valiev is of origin from the region of Ossetia, while Dudaev is of Chechen origin. Kosovo has also secured two Olympic medals in this Olympics.
The judoka Distria Krasniqi has won a silver medal, while the other judoka Laura Fazliu has won a bronze medal. The other seven athletes have finished the competitions without awards.
