Incident with protesters/ MP: They had come to hijack a cause

Socialist Party MP Ardit Bido has reacted on social media regarding yesterday's incident between him and several protesters.

Bido writes that as he was leaving the Parliament yesterday, while he was talking to some protesters, several other people approached him.

People who, according to Bido, had a different purpose than that of the citizen protesters. The socialist says that the aggressiveness shown by some people has nothing to do with the sincere concern of those who started the protest in defense of nature.

Bido states that those people who appeared in front of Parliament had gone to hijack a civic cause and replace dialogue with shouting and swearing.

Civic protest cannot be hijacked by hatred!

Today, as I was leaving the Parliament after a long day of work, I was talking to some protesters. Suddenly, a large group of people gathered, who clearly came with a completely different purpose than that of the citizen protesters.

There I saw concentrated all the spirit of hatred and intolerance that has been fueled for days both from the protest tribune and on social networks, against anyone who dares to think differently.

This aggressive desperation has nothing to do with the sincere concern of the citizens who gave life to this protest for the protection of nature and the need to be more careful about the environment.

But those who showed up today didn't come for nature. They came to hijack a civic cause and replace dialogue with shouting and swearing, and dissenting opinions with attacks.

When a cause falls into the hands of people fueled by hate, it loses its purpose. And that is the greatest injustice that can be done to the protest itself.
