Historian Kastriot Dervishi

Historian Kastriot Dervishi has published the photo of Arjan Kullakshi, the former official of the Directorate of Prison Administration and Police Directorate.

Dervishi declares that Kullakshi is one of the first people who dealt with identifying and searching for the remains of the victims of the dictatorship.

He announces that Kullakshi passed away in January 2021 from a serious illness.

Arjan Kullakshi (pictured) was one of the first people who dealt with identifying and searching for the remains of people killed or who died in prisons during the dictatorship. First he worked in the Directorate of Prison Administration (DAB) and then in the General Directorate of Police. At that time, the function for searching for bones was performed by a central commission in the DAB and local commissions in the branches of public order.

Arjani passed away after a serious illness in January 2021.

Only in the period 1.4.1992 to 30.6.1992, 809 requests were submitted (503 to the central commission and 296 to the law enforcement branches) and the remains of 213 people were found.
