The mayor of Tropoja, Rexh Byberi, requests urgent help from the responsible state authorities, because the territory of the municipality he leads is in an emergency situation due to the floods caused by the incessant rains.

Byber calls on residents to be careful.

"Extreme emergency situation in Tropoja.

The continuous rain for two days, accompanied by storms and torrential rains, is causing great damage in Tropoja.

I have been together with my staff since midnight in the Bytyç administrative unit, where we are monitoring the situation.

Not only the roads and sewers are overflowing, but citizens' homes are at risk from erosion and major collapses.

The most alarming situation is in the village of Vlad, but in almost the entire territory of the Municipality, the escalation is heading towards a natural disaster.

I urgently appeal not only to the responsible state institutions but also to each resident of Tropoja for increased care and solidarity.

The greatest care should be taken in overflowing reservoirs which are dangerous in cases like this.

We are and will be with the citizens wherever they are in difficulty with our tools and human resources to cope with this serious and unexpected situation", announced Byberi on social networks. /CNA.al
