The auction for wind farms is a government initiative that opened in July 2021 and closed in June 2022.

Zv.kryeministrja Belinda Balluku bën me dije se në fazën e parë janë fituese 6 kompani për investimet në energjinë e gjelbër si parqet eolike që do të jenë të parat në Shqipëri që prodhojnë shumën totale nga 100-150 megavat/orë.
Balluku shtoi se do t'i kërkojnë kompanive që kanë eksperiencë në fushën e prodhimit energjetik nga burime të rinovueshme që të përfundojnë sa më shpejt punën. Ndër të tjera theksoi se në fazën e fytë do të nisë vlerësimi i ofertës financiare.

These will be the first parks in Albania. The total amount of production will be 150 megawatt hours. We will ask the companies to finish the work as soon as possible. We did not know that there would be a power crisis when we started work on the parks. In the first phase, where 17 mainly international companies participated, we have reached a number of 6 companies that will evaluate the financial conditions that will go live. So from the first stage, for the technical conditions, 6 foreign companies and an Albanian consortium are the winners.

They are French, German, Turkish, Turkish and Albanian companies. We have set a ceiling, which will be 75 euros per megawatt hour. Bids must be less than this ceiling. As prices are unpredictable in foreign markets. This will be a benefit for us for concluding the contract with a maximum price of up to 75 euros. - said Balluku.
