His Beatitude Joan takes part in Pope Francis' Farewell Ceremony

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude Joan, together with the Bishop of Kruja Anastasius, traveled to Italy to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, as a representation of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

The day before, they paid homage to Pope Francis at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.

They also joined, together with the leaders of other religious faiths, the Albanian delegation headed by the President of the Republic, His Excellency, Mr. Bajram Begaj and, together with the President of Kosovo, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani, as well as Cardinal Ernest Simoni, paid homage as a representation of our country.

Ferdinand Samardzi is also part of this delegation, due to the fact that he has interviewed Pope Francis three times./ CNA
