The 19th Plenary Assembly of ERGA (Group of European Regulators for Audiovisual Media Services) was held in Naples, Italy. High-level leaders of independent national regulatory bodies in the field of audiovisual services focused on the reconsideration of the entire legal framework in accordance with the dynamics of the development of the media market.

The discussants touched on aspects related to platforms and social media, to guarantee in the first place a more protected environment for children, so that they are not exposed to pornography, violence, hate speech, etc. The focus remains on not harming their physical and mental health. Algorithms and electronic devices do not and should not have the right to freedom of expression, as a human right, it was said during the proceedings of the Assembly.

Attention was also paid to the process of regulation regarding influencers and vloggers, as a new market trend, which should be placed in the legal pitfalls. Leaders from the regulators of EU countries presented the dynamics of the implementation in their states of Directive 2018/1808, as far as vloggers and influencers are concerned, as part of the video sharing platform (VSP) regulation.

The President of AMA, Armela Krasniqi, stated among others in the works of the 19th Assembly of ERGA, that: "AMA, as a regulator, has all the will and capacity to use the same instruments that the regulators of 27 countries apply member of the EU". She addressed an initiative, as she described it, "for strengthening ties and expanding cooperation between regulators, at a time when the phenomena we face do not recognize the official borders of the Union".
