The 27th Edition of the Balkan Mathematics Olympiad for Young People ends

On June 28, the 27th Edition of the Balkan Mathematics Olympiad for Young People-JBMO 2023 (https://jbmo2023.al/), the second that the Albanian Mathematics Association-AMA (https://www. ama.org.al/en/) as an official representative of MASSEE organized and hosted in our country in the past 24 years.

The Albanian team won 3 Bronze medals at JBMO 2023 from talented students Sigi Zalla-Durrës, Jamarbër Rushitaj-Vlorë and Ajsel Budlla-Tirana.

From June 23 to 28, AMA brought together 19 teams from official and friendly countries in Tirana. JBMO 2023 had the support of the Ministry of Education and Sports as well as institutions, organizations and businesses in the country of Kosovo, among which we mention:

The winners of this Olympiad were crowned at the awarding ceremony which was held on June 27 in the premises of the cultural center near the Orthodox Cathedral where diplomats from the representations of several countries were present.

Në këtë ceremoni u shpërndanë 44 medalje Bronzi, 25 medalje Argjendi dhe 11 medalje Ari. Momenti më i vecantë i JBMO 2023 ishte kurorëzimi me Pikë të Plota (Perfect Score) i Damjan Davkov-MV.

Gjatë qëndrimit të tyre ekipet vizituan Muzeun Historik Kombëtar dhe qendrën e Tiranës si edhe qytetin dhe kalanë e Beratit.

Krahas JBMO, Shoqata Shqiptare e Matematikës (AMA) në bashkëpunim me Ministrinë e Arsimit dhe Sportit të Shqipërisë (MAS) dhe Shoqërinë e Matematikës për Europën Juglindore (MASSEE) realizon pjesëmarrjen e Shqipërisë në konkurrime të rëndësishme ndërkombëtare me arritje spikatëse ndër të cilat përmendim:

Olimpiadën Ballkanike të Matematikës (BMO), Olimpiadën Evropiane të Matematikës për Femra (EGMO), Olimpiadën Ndërkombëtare të Matematikës (IMO).

AMA also cooperates closely with the sister association, and since 2020 the mathematicians of Kosovo have successfully organized the KAMO-Kosovo-Albania Mathematical Olympiad (KAMO).
