The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has spoken about the first extradition from Dubai to Albania.

Balla announced that after a month he will pay a visit to the United Arab Emirates where negotiations on the extradition agreement will be discussed.

He said that now Dubai will not be seen as an oasis of refuge by criminal exponents.

"You have seen that a few months ago we started a cooperation with Interpol against organized crime, against drug trafficking, and we have a new focus on finding persons wanted by Albania.

We have a reduced number of extradition treaties, and we are working to open new avenues of communication with other countries that we do not have.

Simplified extradition is about a method that has in itself a communication with Interpol Tirana and Abu Dhabi.
