The new agreement USA-Albania/ Support in several areas

The Minister of Economy, Ervin Mete, held a meeting with the US Chargé d'Affaires, Wisner, where the finalization of the new assistance agreement for Albania was discussed.

During the meeting, the possibility of increasing the cooperation and support of the United States of America for Albania was discussed, also through the new aid agreement of the American Government for our country.

Mete appreciated the support that the USA has given and continues to give to Albania, within the framework of important reforms and the country's integration process.

In this context, the minister evaluated the new assistance agreement through USAID funding programs, which foresees the continuation of support for Albania until 2030 in the framework of strengthening the rule of law, good governance and sustainable economic development.

The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of further deepening the cooperation and relations between the two countries in the field of security, even as allies in NATO.

In this regard, the Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Tirana, Wisner expressed his readiness to continue supporting Albania, in areas such as cyber security, further modernization of the armed forces and the increase of defense capacities./ CNA
