"The educator pushed me to sing at the age of 5"/ Parashqevi Simaku

The famous Albanian singer, Parashqevi Simaku, who has been living in the US for many years, has revealed a little about her early days in music. In an interview with journalist Blendi Fevziu, Simaku shared her first memories of singing, as she recalled that her kindergarten teacher in Kavajë, the city where she was born and raised, pushed her to sing, after hearing her constantly.

Simaku revealed that he subsequently participated in many musical events and received many awards.

She then recalled that her serious beginnings with singing as an adult were when she participated in an audition.

"I had an educator in Kavaja who was the sister of former Minister Kapllani. She told me to sing, because she was listening to me. I was wearing a white apron, I stepped forward and sang a song. This happened when I was 5 years old. They also gave me an award. I received awards constantly. I have participated in festivals since I was 16. I was also the best dancer of the Kavaja Ensemble. They took me to an audition and asked me to sing folk songs that I had never sung before," Simaku said. /CNA
