During the meeting, the chief democrat declared that the new director of Adriatik Kupi Prisons is a patron and subordinate of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

"Now they are working to make peace with the thief Lali. They took the director, one of the exponents of 5D. After beating him in prison a few months ago, they now took his subordinate director, the patronizing Kupi, to prison," Berisha declared.

For days, CNA, through several articles, has denounced the scandal of how the Durrës prison has been transformed, with the appointment of the new director of prisons, Adriatik Kupi. On April 1, Adriatik Kupi was appointed head of prisons, replacing Klevis Qose.

His appointment was made by Toni Gogu, today Minister of Justice, but yesterday the pastor who married Erion Veliaj to his wife Ajola Xoxa. After Kupi's appointment, it was discovered that, in fact, the latter is a supporter of Veliaj. This is proven by a congratulatory message that Kupi sent to the mayor on his birthday. Kupi also held the position of administrator of the Petrelë Administrative Unit, at the time when the Municipality of Tirana was under the leadership of Erion Veliaj, and participated in Veliaj's campaign.
