DP MP: Police pressure in Lezha during Rama's visit, citizens were escorted

Democratic Party MP, Gjin Gjoni, has denounced what he describes as a climate of pressure and police control in Lezha during Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit.

According to him, during this visit, two citizens were escorted to the police station, who were held for about four hours, until the Prime Minister's agenda was completed and he left the city.

Gjini considers this action to be serious and illegal, emphasizing that it shows the government's fear of citizens and of dissenting voices.

"Lezha today experienced an unacceptable climate of pressure and police control during the next propaganda visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has been deceiving for 13 years, bringing only depopulation, poverty and misery.

Two citizens were escorted to the police station and held for about 4 hours, until the Prime Minister's agenda was completed and he left the city.

This is a serious and illegal action, which clearly shows this government's fear of free citizens and dissenting voices.

No normal state can accept that the police are used to detain innocent citizens just to guarantee a propaganda facade.

It is the obligation of institutions to provide immediate explanations for this case and to be held accountable for any violation of citizens' rights.

"Edi Rama, be assured that the Lezha Region is not subject to pressure and violence, but remains steadfast in the face of any of your attempts at intimidation. Just like in the last elections, where the citizens of this region punished the corrupt government of "Rilindja" with their votes, clearly proving that no one can impose their will on them," declared the DP MP, Gjin Gjoni./ CNA
