The Special Court has sentenced Rezart Taci, who remains at large, to 11 years in prison. In February, SPAK requested 13 years in prison for the businessman.

It is also reported that the GJKKO has also seized his bank account with 18.3 million euros. The fugitive businessman is accused of laundering money for the Italian mafia, Cosa Nosta.

The investigations have revealed that the Italians Francesco Zummo, Fabio Petruzzella and Daniele Cestagalli, in collaboration with Rezart Taçi, Artur Balla, Bledar Lilo, in the form of a structured criminal group, have organized a complex illegal financial scheme, spread across several different countries, which aimed to "launder" a considerable sum of money.

According to SPAK, with the help of the 3 Albanians involved, this money would be transferred to a second-tier bank in Albania. /CNA
