Protest in Skopje/ Ndregjoni: Albanian students must speak their native language

The President of the Nationwide Union for the Integration of Political Prisoners and Persecuted People of Albania, Besim Ndregjoni, has shared a call on the protest of Albanian students in Skopje, who demand to speak their native language in the institutions of the multiethnic state of North Macedonia.

Ndregjoni emphasizes that the right to use one's native language is a right that stems from the country's Constitution.

According to Ndregjoni, the Macedonian state's stance is unacceptable, which is why he invites Albanians in the RMV to show solidarity with the case.

"The government overrides the Constitution and does not allow them to speak Albanian. They have been residents of their land for thousands of years, in their country, for the protection of their homeland they have sacrificed for thousands of years. They are proud that in their homeland in Manastir the Albanian language has been unified! It has been defined for all Albanian-speaking Albanians! In their land: Albanian scholars gathered to define the alphabet of the Albanian language. It was the fortunate culmination of a multitude of multi-year efforts to draft a common alphabet, starting from the alphabets of the various invaders who violated Albanian lands, the Latin, Greek, Turkish-Arabic and special original alphabets. Until the first great achievement: the Istanbul alphabet, with which the first works of the National Renaissance were written and printed. In a multi-ethnic state, the nationalism of one ethnicity against another ethnicity is unacceptable!

The Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms clearly and precisely defines the rights that Albanian students in Skopje, one of the Albanian cities that has kept the spirit of nationalism alive, are demanding. Neither the Byzantine invader, nor the Roman invader, nor the Turkish invader, nor the Greeks, nor the Slav-Macedonians could assimilate the Albanian language!

We call on all Albanians, wherever they live and reside, to stand in solidarity with the students of Skopje with the motto:

Your contribution to a Great Mission!

My dream speaks Albanian!

Don't stop me!", Ndregjoni emphasizes. /CNA
