14 hearings postponed/ Veliaj continues to drag out court proceedings

Activist and journalist Aulon Kalaja has announced that the last court hearing with Erion Veliaj has also been postponed, as a result of the arrested mayor continuing to drag out court proceedings.

According to Kala, this was the 14th session that has been postponed and the trial is now losing its meaning.

He emphasizes that this delay is incomprehensible when we consider the fact that it is the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, whom he has sued in court for defamation.

Kalaja underlines that the lawsuit filed by Veliaj is a "strategic lawsuit", aimed at intimidating, restraining and silencing Veliaj.

"Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj continues to drag out the trial against me! 14 sessions have been held so far and this trial is losing its meaning."

Today, the next hearing failed because Veliaj's defense attorney had addressed the court with a report. This is not the first time!
