Lawyer Adriana Kalaja stated this evening that the General Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into Judge Irena Gjoka.

In a television appearance, Kalaja said that according to her information, the General Prosecutor's Office will shortly send a request to the Supreme Court of Justice for the dismissal of Judge Irena Gjoka.

"Ms. Gjoka has been convicted and should have declared it according to the law. The General Prosecutor's Office has started an investigation. The General Prosecutor's Office confirmed to me in July 2025 that, according to the Greek authorities, it is confirmed that Ms. Gjoka has been convicted criminally and two expulsions have been issued in 2002 and 2003. I have been dealing with this issue for 1 and a half years. The General Prosecutor's Office, to my knowledge, you will hear very soon, within a short period of time, according to the information I have, will submit a request to the Supreme Court of Justice for the dismissal of Ms. Gjoka. It is absurd because she has violated the decriminalization law ," said Kalaja.  /CNA
