Prime Minister Edi Rama in his statement to the media this Saturday paid special attention to the situation of fires in the country.
He called on the prosecutors not to dismiss cases related to arson and emphasized that the criminal code foresees long imprisonments.
According to him, the same thing cannot happen in our country as it is happening in other countries.
"I want to thank the state police for arresting several forest arsonists for whom the criminal code provides for long prison terms. I want to make a call to the Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania, who have announced in a more criminal way, for those who burned the forests, case breaks, non-starting cases for burning forests, so that they don't forget their children. Don't forget their children's children and don't forget their grandparents and great-grandparents who planted those trees when they take on such decisions for criminals who should spend a long time in prison. With a match they burn the wealth of the country and I don't want it to happen in Albania like in other countries. There is an article in the criminal code, such as setting fire in forests, which is very clear," said Rama. / CNA.al
