New details have emerged from the suspension of 4 officials of the Korça Municipality, who favored various entities by illegally calculating the tax for luxury constructions and complexes.

The four officials with the initials Zh. L, E. Gj, O. P and S. P, are accused of "suspension of exercising a duty or public service". The "Compulsion to appear" measure has been imposed on them.

The investigations show that this illegality has brought unfair monetary benefits to the subjects and brought economic damage to the state worth over 30 million ALL.

Police Notification:

The security measures "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" and "Compulsion to appear before the judicial police", for 4 officials of the municipality of Korçë, are executed.

The security measures, the result of the investigation followed for 16 months, by the Police and the Prosecutor's Office of Korça, on accusations of abuse of duty and failure to report the crime.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the Korça Local Police Directorate, after an intensive 16-month investigation, conducted under the direction of the Korça Prosecutor's Office, executed the security measures "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" and "Obligation to appear before the judicial police", for citizens:
-Mr. L., 61 years old, resident in Korçë, with the position of Director of the Directorate of Planning and Control of Territorial Development, in the municipality of Korçë, suspected of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty";
-E. Gj., 52 years old, resident of Korçë, with the position of Sector Manager at the Directorate of Planning and Control of Territorial Development, in the municipality of Korçë, suspected of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty";
-OP, 37 years old, resident in Korça, with the position of Budget Specialist in this directorate, suspected of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty";
- SP, 44 years old, resident of Korçë, with the position of Director of the Directorate of Local Taxes and Tariffs in the municipality of Korçë, suspected of the criminal offense of "Disobedience of crime".
The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Korçë, with the decision dated 26.03.2024, has set these security measures for 4 citizens, because it is suspected that they have misused their duties to favor different subjects, for non-payment of the infrastructure impact tax for new constructions. The investigations show that this illegality has brought unfair monetary benefits to the subjects and brought economic damage to the state worth over 30 million ALL.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Korça General Jurisdiction, for further actions./ CNA
