Bought votes in the 2021 elections/ SPAK sends Gazmend Canaj to trial

At the end of the preliminary investigations, the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime on 10.01.2024 sent for trial criminal proceedings no. 116/1 of 2022 against the defendant:

Gazmend Canaj, accused of committing the criminal offense: "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328 of the Criminal Code.     

From the one-by-one and unified analysis of the evidence administered during the investigation (telephone taps and statements of persons who have knowledge of the criminal offense) it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt based on the evidence that the defendant Gazmend Canaj was offered directly to various persons economic benefits for them to vote in a certain way, in support of the political entity that Gazmendi supported in the general parliamentary elections in the district of Tirana, dated April 25, 2021.

It is proven that the defendant Gazmend Canaj offered and gave food to the citizens of GK and EG as well as offered illegal benefits to the citizens of SK, RC and FR, against their vote and their relatives, in favor of the political entity that Gazmendi supported .
