Lulzim Basha has spoken about corruption in the ranks of the socialists, thus targeting the mayor Erion Veliaj.

Basha has emphasized that he is against the establishment of a Special Parliamentary Commission to control and monitor the work of SPAK, where the aim is to save the skin of the mayor Erion Veliaj, who risks being accused of abuse of office, after the implication in the file "5D" and the Tirana incinerator.

Basha requested transparency of the draft resolution presented by the majority. It also requires vetting of politicians, control of politicians' wealth.

"Part of the process of the fight against corruption is DP. That's why I salute the American Embassy for seeking transparency. The only party that demands transparency is DP and deposits them in institutions. They want to undo SPAK.

I see it as an encouragement to our works and a warning to those who speak and do otherwise. DP has proposed the vetting of politicians and after 6 months they want to introduce it to the Assembly, I welcome this.

Cooperation should be bipartisan and transparent. SP has no initiative, but a ridiculous statement that does not suit an 11-year-old government. I do not believe that such pre-electoral announcements constitute a basis for serious discussions.

Vetting for politicians is a serious project. Unlike the moon, sun, earth and other political calendars, politics must follow the public interest calendar. We must respond not with formal acts", said Basha./ CNA
