Investment in road infrastructure has started in Pogradec Lower Mokra. Historically without road infrastructure, Mokra has not only suffered this, but almost 50% of the population fled for this reason from the village to the city.

The Mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, announced the start of works from Proptishti to the beautiful village of Bishnica. He said that the investment is late but totally deserved for Mokra, an investment that will open a new chapter for the area, the village and tourism there. In addition to the investment in roads in the two residential centers of Proptisht and Slabimje, there will be investment in their centers, sidewalks and lighting.

"It will be a road with standards, according to the standards of rural roads. The project also includes the center of the administrative unit, which will have sidewalks and lighting.

What we are doing is 6.5 km to the exit of Slabinja, then from where we left off, the project "Rrugët e Badha" starts until Bishnica. And this is good news for both administrative units of Lower Mokra and this decision was made because these units also have the highest population and in addition to helping these residents, we also help the city because these areas , especially Bishnica is a very attractive area for the development of tourism, so I firmly believe that this area will develop. I know that this route has a deadline of 12 months, but I think that with the understanding of the firm, it will be completed even sooner. Now we are not even in winter and I hope that the works will go even faster", said Xhakolli.

The investment in 20 km of road, which is partly financed by the Municipality and the rest with the white roads program, a government project, will have a positive effect on the economy of the residents, but also on stopping the hemorrhaging of people leaving. The aim is for this road to be connected to the exit as soon as possible with the Qukës-Qafë Plloçë road, while the deadline for the works is 12 months./ CNA
