The tragedy in Shkodër, the psychiatrist: Alma Arrazi did not have mental
John Preci

The neuro-psychiatrist, Gjon Preçi, at the same time head of the Community Psychiatry Service, has stated that Alma Arrazi, who committed suicide in Buna with her 3 children, does not appear to have had mental health problems.

In his response, he emphasizes that the deceased two years ago received medical care for mood disorders and anxiety.

He told the conversation he had with the prosecutor of the case, to whom he told that he would communicate with his staff and give him a detailed answer.

Full reaction:

I have responded to the interest of the media and the public by saying that over time additional data has emerged. She has not been a patient with mental health problems. A few years ago he received service for mood disorder with anxiety. She was not a patient with major psychiatric problems because if she was, she would be followed by us and would have a card and would be treated. She received a service for a specific problem as anyone can and was not a chronic patient with major mental health problems. Of course there are always unexpected developments, but two years ago since I had a contact I no longer know how things have developed with her and it has not been confirmed by our services that there may have been issues that led to that decision .

Two years ago, she received her last service, and my family members reminded me of this because I don't remember her as a patient. The treatment he had was not of the nature of a chronic illness. A certain period must pass for a person to be called chronic. If there is anxiety, insomnia or the like and the fact that there is a prescription, it is not assumed that he was with a serious disability and a danger to himself or others. All over the world, there is an attempt to hide the official documentation for a certain service when it is not chronic, this is also due to the risk of stigmatization in society where they can tell you that you are crazy.

50% or 60% of cases are not documented all over the world and this is a statistic. We register them in other cases when they ask to be employed, for a business or other requests then we tell them wait that there is this condition. Of course, the parties present to the court documents that they think are valid. I had a call from the prosecutor and I told him to give me time to clarify and in the conversations with my staff he was not confirmed as a person registered and treated by us and I gave him this answer./ CNA
