ARRSH closes the old Milot bridge/ It posed a danger to passersby, traffic chaos is expected

The old bridge over the Mat River has been closed to vehicle traffic, after serious damage was found to the supporting legs, caused by a lack of maintenance intervention and the removal of inert materials near its structure.

According to the Albanian Road Authority, the closure was taken as a safety measure, as the bridge poses a real risk of collapse and crossing it has become impossible.

However, no official information has been provided on whether any intervention will be made to repair it or what the final fate of this strategic bridge will be.

This situation comes at a critical moment, when traffic on the Milot-Lezha axis is at its peak due to the tourist influx.

The lack of a bridge is expected to create chaos and long queues at the entrances and exits of the city of Lezha, significantly affecting the movement of residents and vacationers./ CNA
