SPAK closes investigation into Veliaj/ Submits 500 pages of indictment, 60 thousand pages of documents and evidence

The Special Prosecution Office has closed the investigations and officially named the arrested mayor, Erion Veliaj, as a defendant.

Today, SPAK has communicated to Veliaj the charges for 4 serious criminal offenses.

The mayor, arrested since February 10, 2025, is accused of corruption, money laundering, failure to declare assets, and bringing unauthorized items into the cell.

SPAK has sent Veliaj's file, which contains 500 pages of accusations, to the court.

These pages are accompanied by a very voluminous supporting documentation of 60 thousand pages.

Today, the Special Prosecution Office closed the investigations, however, the lawyers have 10 days to make their requests and then another 30 days to carry out the actions./ CNA
