Arrest of PL leader/ Meta demands freedom

On February 27, the Supreme Court will review the request filed by the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, to lift the security measure "Arrest with prison". Judges Ilir Panda, Albana Boksi and Medi Bici will review the appeal filed by Meta.

These same judges will also review the appeal filed by MP Monika Kryemadhi, who calls the "compulsion to appear" measure against her illegal.  

The leader of PL, Meta, is seeking a more lenient measure against him with the arguments that he leads an opposition force and we are on the eve of parliamentary elections. Ilir Meta is facing charges of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets related to the Cez-Dia files, lobbying of the former LSI in the USA and his family's expenses. The First Instance and the Appeal of the GJKKO have left the measure "Arrest with imprisonment" in force for Meta.
