A black shadow has fallen on the Municipality of Tirana after the discovery of the corrupt scheme that stole millions of euros from poor Albanians.

Directors, officials of the capital's municipality have ended up behind bars for massive abuses in tenders amounting to 20 million euros.

Beyond this scheme, the main people of this affair are close associates, the most loyal people of the mayor Erion Veliaj.

But the affair cannot be closed only with the directors. The investigation continues and more arrests are expected. All this seems to have put fear to the core of the officials and other employees of the municipality.

This was observed during a meeting that Veliaj held the day before where he presented the project for New Boulevard.

No smiling face. All black. The photos published by the mayor himself show that all those present have shadows on their faces. No one smiles. Boredom and fear are visible to everyone.

The arrests of the directors of Veliaj seem to have "outdated" the employees.

The directors of Veliaj were arrested after SPAK discovered with facts and evidence all the violations, abuses, thefts that had been committed in the Municipality of Tirana.

The names of its directors such as Mariglen Qato or Redi Molla have their connections to the incinerators.

The incinerators are the megatheft of the century, an affair that has stolen hundreds of millions of euros from taxpayers' money.
