Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has reacted to US President Donald Trump's accusations against George Soros and his son.

In a statement to the media, Berisha called the president's reaction a historic act.

"In a historic act, the US president yesterday charged George Soros and his left-wing extremist son, Alexis Soros, under the RICO law as a criminal organization that has engaged in intense activity against the order and security of the US."

George Soros and his son are today the main supporter of major Marxist and post-Marxist groups and ideology in the US and around the world.

I come today to remind you that 8 years ago I declared Soros a monster of humanity. I have publicly asked the US Senate and Congress to legally ban his criminal, anti-democratic activity outside the US.

I have publicly presented the same request to the European Parliament. As for Albania, I have considered and continue to consider it a fierce enemy of Albanian democracy.

The truth is that in this very public speech, I requested his declaration as persona non grata. During these years, he used all his political and monetary power against democracy in Albania, in support of a criminal organization headed by Edi Rama.

But I remind the Albanians that Soros and his son, after New York, had Tirana as the second most important capital in the world. In Tirana, they, with their limitless financial investments, with their criminal lobbying, managed to transform the democratic order and the Constitution of the country.

To consolidate Edi Rama's criminal power, George Soros, his foundation, and his son engaged in so-called reforms that had only one goal: monism and a narco-state in Albania. They greatly influenced the Joe Biden administration, but they also influenced other chancelleries.

They became the main support for the violation of elections and the acceptance of the violated elections without the votes being counted, as was the case in 2021. They became the shield for the complete cannabisization of the country and later the opening of the most powerful drug cartels in Europe.

I would like to add here that the great suspicion that exists about Edi Rama's chartered trips, 140 trips in 2 years, for which there are indications that money and drugs were transported in diplomatic suitcases, very serious suspicions are raised about the 2-3 week visits to Albania in recent years by Alexander Soros. As for what their motive was, but these visits with available aircraft and flights, there is no question of great suspicion.
