The fulfillment of international obligations in Albania on the implementation of the United Nations Convention in the field of human rights was presented by the Albanian delegation during the proceedings of the 94th Session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child, held in Geneva, on the 4 September 5.

The joint report of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the National Agency of the Information Society, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as the line ministries, highlighted some of the initiatives taken by the Albanian government to ensure through technology more many opportunities, convenience and safety for children and families, with a focus on children with disabilities.

In this direction, ANKSI will adapt the government portal e-Albania in accordance with international standards of internet access, to ensure equal access to electronic social services for this category of children.

In relation to the provision of data and social services, AKSHI has carried out an important transformation, implementing the National Electronic Register for Social Services. This digitization has helped facilitate administrative processes and made decision-making more efficient.

Present in this session, the representative of AKSHI, Sonja Sinorukaj, Director of the Directorate of e-Gov Relations with Institutions, emphasized the importance of this digitization for the further help and support of children and families.

In her presentation, she listed the many benefits of the digitization processes of social services in Albania, such as:

Administrative Simplification: Using an integrated platform has reduced the paperwork burden and allowed staff to focus more on providing the care children and families need.

Transparency and accountability: Every detail of service delivery is systematically recorded, ensuring transparency and accountability, which helps prevent cases of abuse.

Interoperability and efficiency: Linkage to national registries has facilitated data sharing and referencing, improving resource allocation and evidence-based decisions.

Evaluation and tracking of progress: The system's ability to produce evaluations and track the progress of treatment and care plans has helped to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention and ensure the delivery of appropriate care.

Innovation in the way social services are provided has had a positive impact on the care of children and families in Albania. The digitization of processes and the data-based approach have improved the lives of citizens and have rewarded the efforts of all those who are committed to guaranteeing the rights and well-being of children and families in our country.

This session of the Committee for the Rights of the Child has once again emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Albanian government to better serve the interests and rights of children and families./ CNA
